OJL has acquired the only existing copy of two radio broadcasts made by Lead Belly on WNYC New York in August 1948. These fifteen-minute programs, titled “The Story of Folklore,” were previously unknown and have never been released. They will be issued on a special limited edition blue vinyl 10-inch LP with liner notes by Lead Belly biographer Kip Lornell. The record is being produced with the cooperation of the Lead Belly Estate. Look for this special vinyl release soon from Origin Jazz Library!
